An eerie resemblance

Sherlock Holmes, now on Spanish tv, is proving to be a VERY interesting series, quite unusual and for us, original SH readers, more faithful to the original than the first impression could convey. The transposition of time could have broken the spell, however it didn't as the writers have managed to keep the character of Mr Holmes intact and good Dr. Watson almost the same as SH sidekick. It is also remarkable how the actor who portray these characters have been wonderfully chosen and give their best not to disappoint the legions of SH followers around the world. And as far as I am concerned they have succeded.
Nontheless there is another reason that keeps me glued to the tv screen everytime the series are aired and that is the eerie resemblance of the actor who plays Sherlock. His name is Benedict Cumberbatch, certainly a name difficult to forget once you learn it, and he is rather fascinating, his features are uncommon and yet he looks remarkably similar to a friend of my husband who died a few years ago. The resemblance is closer when he is acting as Sherlock and I find that simply amazing. I would not say he is the spiting image of my husband's late friend but alas! sometimes I could believe he is alive again. Still, I must say that he has created a great Sherlock and has/is doing a great job.
As for Martin Freeman, well, I have known him since The Office and I think he is very good also, not quite the Dr. Watson that I had in mind but that does not mean he is also doing a good job.
